 Destiny Christian College & University Accreditation Following the Biblical mandate to equip and train the saints for the work of service it is our purpose and vision to strengthen the hands of our fellow ecclesiastical brethren in the endeavors of religious training, service and theological education. Our tradition and mission is as old as the people of God carrying out faithful discipleship and education in their midst. We stand on the shoulders of those who have come before with gratitude. Destiny Christian College & University operates and is under the sovereign authority of the Church. Since 1988 we have been raising up the next generation in the Lord. In 1998 upon the invitation of the State of Florida Independent Colleges and Universities Destiny College was authorized with the degree granting status from that entity. In America alone, there are more than 4,000 institutions of higher education, both private and government. So it is undeniable that we live in an age of opportunity for higher education. What is deniable, however, is that truly Christian higher education is readily available. Modern educational emphasis is on passing a course of study for the sake of a degree rather than for the knowledge, understanding and wisdom that the degree should represent. Blessed is the one who finds wisdom, and the one who gets understanding, for the gain from her is better than gain from silver and her profit better than gold. She is more precious than jewels, and nothing you desire can compare with her. —Proverbs 3:13-15 We understand accreditation is simply peer recognition and accountability. Just as our nation’s founding fathers recognized that there must be freedom for religion and that the state should not establish a state church or religion we believe that the same paradigm exist for the education of students in our sacred schools of higher education to learn, serve and lead His Church. With that in mind, we completely trust God to bring us students whose needs we can meet and help to fulfill their God-given call. As a result, we are delighted to have a diverse student body of committed, diligent, and creative learners whose desire is to fulfill the Great Commission and to work powerfully and effectively in their God-ordained ministry. Accreditation, Recognitions & Rewarding of Degrees State of Florida Department of Education State Authorization In the United States of America, jurisdiction over degree-granting institutions rests with the individual state governments. Compliance with state regulations is the necessary condition for offering a legitimate, legal American degree. Destiny Christian College & University grants degrees under the authority of the Florida State Board of Independent Colleges and Universities in compliance with Section 1005.06(1)(f), Florida Statutes. WWAC Accreditation Destiny Christian College & University is fully accredited by the World-Wide Accreditation Commission of Christian Educational Institutions (WWAC). WWAC is a non-governmental accreditation, extended exclusively to private, Christian institutions upon inspection and approval of their programs, operations, and integrity. WWAC is a worldwide accreditation that honors the separation of church and state, and extends beyond national boundaries. Its standards and expectations measure compliance with scriptural principles as applied to education. Certificates received for completion of all non credited short term programs offered that is transferred to another institution for credit is solely the decision of the receiving institution.
